Renaissance Faires are festivals originating from Europe and the USA, celebrating medieval European Culture. Over the years, this style of event has evolved from medieval reenactments to having classical fantasy elements injected into its culture. In some regions, Renaissance Faires have taken on the location’s history and people, like the Pirates Festival in coastal US cities.
As this culture spreads around the world, several countries have also taken on the task of celebrating their own histories and culture, along with the fantastical whimsy of its myths and legends – just like how Lion City Faire aims to celebrate the beauty of Singaporean (and Southeast Asian) culture.
